A resident of Nyamira can finally access critical services following the correction of her Identification Document(ID) details thanks to the intervention of the Commission.
According to Ms. Josephine Mogere her National Identity Card Number is 82….57. However, she was issued with an ID Card No. 12….57. She severally sought correction of the anomaly but for two years later the issue had not been resolved preventing her from accessing critical services as the ID had incorrect number. This predicament impelled her to seek the intervention of the Commission.
The Commission by way of inquiry took up the matter with the Director, Nation Registration Bureau. In his response to the Commission, the Director acknowledged that the ID for Ms. Mogere was erroneously misquoted during the processing of the 2nd Generation ID card and this prompted the same ID Number to be blocked in the ID card system.
Following the Commission’s intervention, the error was rectified and an ID card issued bearing the correct ID number 12….57 as per the registration records. Further, a letter explaining the error was dispatched together with the ID card to Enkerenyo Registration Office where Ms. Mogere did the application.
Ms. Mogere in a telephone call confirmed the receipt of the ID card.
