“Following my complaint of unresponsiveness concerning my promotion lodged at the Commission’s Eldoret Regional Office, I am pleased to inform you that justice has prevailed. I have been promoted to the position of head teacher job group C5 following my interview in February 2021…” these were the words of Ms. Mercy Kemboi in an appreciation letter to the Commission.
Ms. Kemboi lodged a complaint with the Commission alleging delay by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to promote her after serving at job group C4 for twenty-seven years. According to her, she attended two interviews for job group C5 but TSC did not communicate the results prompting her to seek the intervention of the Commission to have TSC give reasons for not promoting her.
The Commission by way of inquiry took up the matter with TSC leading to her promotion which she confirmed in a letter dated 6th October 2021.
“I received a letter showing that I was promoted on 19th April 2021 and was dated 2nd September 2021. I received the letter last week. Thank you so much to the Commission which seeks justice for the weak in society,” read her appreciation letter.
