The Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) finally paid a contracted employee Kshs 12,500 owed to him following the intervention of the Commission in a case of inordinate delay.
According to Said Kitsao, he was engaged by KNBS as a Content Supervisor during the 2019 Kenya Population and Housing Census in Paziani sub-location in Ganze, Kilifi County. Despite completing the census exercise successfully and submitting the required particulars, he had not been paid a balance of Kshs. 12,500. Follow up with the agency did not bear any fruits prompting him to lodge a complaint with the Commission’s Mombasa Regional Office in July 2021 to have the agency pay his dues.
The Commission by way of inquiry took up the matter with KNBS leading to payment of dues owed to him. Mr. Said, in an email to the Commission on 28th September 2021, confirmed receipt of his outstanding dues and expressed gratitude.
“I really appreciate it. I have received my dues today,” read his email to the Commission.
