A resident of Loitoktok, Grace, can finally honour her grandson’s invitation to visit the United States (US) following the processing of her passport by the Immigration Department. Her nephew John, highlighted the aunt’s frustration in a newspaper article. According to the article, Grace had postponed her trip to the US following delay in processing her passport. The article further documented that Grace in July 2018 was promised that the passport would be processed by August the same year. By the end of October, however, the passport had not been processed further jeopardising her trip to the US. Grace was forced to travel from Loitoktok to immigration offices at Nyayo House in Nairobi but the several visits did not bare any fruits.
The Commission took up the issue on its own motion with the Director of Immigrations upon which Grace was called by an officer of the Department to collect her passport in November.
