A female complainant who was alleged to have been assaulted by the area chief has seen justice being served.
In June 2017, the Commission received a complaint from the complainant (name withheld) over assault incident involving a chief from Laikipia County. As a result of the assault, she alleged she suffered miscarriage, losing a three-month pregnancy.
The Commission brought this matter to the attention of the Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government. In particular, the Commission requested the Principal Secretary to consider the matter in light of the conduct of the Chief as a public officer and initiate the appropriate disciplinary action against him.
